Fort Stevens & Down The Coast

We drove over to Fort Stevens, and we lucky enough to get there during a low tide so we could walk around the Peter Iredale, then we drove up to the Columbia River mouth and watched a ship being pulled in by a tug boat. After that it was time to drive south to grab some ice cream at Tilamook and head home, with a brief stop at Rockaway Beach.

Cape Lookout State Park

We took a quick trip over to Cape Lookout State Park, forgot to grab the camera out of the car...go figure... But remembered we had it when leaving, and snapped a few grainy long distance pictures of the Three Arch Rocks National Wildlife Refuge, and low tide in Netarts Bay.

Fort Stevens State Park

Today we zoomed over to the coast and hit Fort Stevens State Park as it had been a while since we have been there. It'a a beautiful day, and we enjoyed walking around the beach at the mouth of the Columbia river, and wandering through the commonly seen areas of the fort.

Coast Trip and Newport, Oregon

We took a trip to the the coast, and stopped to take some pictures of Haceta Head Lighthouse, then we drove north to a favorite little park, Muriel Ponsler Wayside. We then proceeded up the coast to Cooks Chasm, Smelt Sands State Park, and Then we hit Newport, and stopped at Butterfly Adventures, which was amazing. Once we were done there, we went across the street to check out the sea lions.
In addition to the pictures in the album, there is HD video of the sea lions and the butterflies on my YouTube Channel.
